About Sky Adams

I love to see people becoming free and more connected to each other. I love to watch living beings thrive and connect with their environment. I also know that the smallest things can sometimes bring us to a stop. And then what do we do?

I have studied development and counseling and taught preschool for 12 years in Bloomington. Using knowledge of human development across the lifespan and years of experience working with families and very young children, I have developed an understanding of how individuals and families set goals and work toward them. I have also witnessed many ways folks are hindered in their lives. They get stuck between strong emotions and conflicting values or cower from imposing family members and memories. They are held back by high self expectations. Sometimes it’s a habit or lack of some key ingredient that keeps them on a loop. But what keeps me hopeful even when witnessing the darkest scenario, is my belief that humans have the same origins as all Life. Far from a corny or cut-and-dry code of conduct, this belief means to me that we can be as free in our own lives as any other living thing.

With these experiences and beliefs, I provide counseling and coaching to empower folks of all ages to pursue relaxed and confident interactions, comfortable connection, and improved understanding of themselves and their world. In my work, I tend to encourage personal acceptance as a priority and personal liberty as a goal. I have experience using EMDR, Play Thearpy, and Theraplay techniques. I address trauma, relationship issues, family issues, anxiety, depression, major life changes, and more. I attempt to help you find practical solutions that fit your life.
